The Orchid Has Bloomed

Oh yay!

We went away on Friday to Napier for the long weekend, and when we got back today my Phalaenopsis orchid was in bloom. Only one flower has opened up and there will only be two in total, but it’s so exciting.

I’m glad that I hadn’t completely butchered my poor orchid when I pruned it.

Wow! That bud must’ve sprouted real quick, it was just a nub last time I saw it.

Yep. The bud was about the size of the unopened one in the picture on Friday, and then all of a sudden when we got back on Monday it was completely open. Extremely fast growing when it wants to be!
