Baby Update at 12 Weeks

I am nearly 13 weeks pregnant now – so the risky first 12 weeks is behind me.

Had a nuchal translucency scan today and saw the foetus looking like an actual human – hooray! Too bad it was just sleeping. It didn’t move at all, but I was reassured with the sound of a strong heart beat. I would’ve liked to see it bounce around like the video of the crazy 10 week old foetus. Instead it was just chilling – with one arm behind its head too!

Made me giggle when I saw this scan – it looks like it’s puckering its lips for a smooch, or trying to suck all the energy out of me…

This past week has been particularly tiring, but that’s probably also because of our trip to the Gold Coast (more about this to come).

I’ve been hoping that the “morning” sickness would have subsided by now, but nope. Still queasy on and off. At least the smell and sight of food is not off-putting. I still eat lots, but more little meals rather than a few large ones.

I am very much looking forward to eating anything I want again. We went to a sushi train restaurant in Surfers and all I could do was salivate with envy as everyone else had sushi and I had to settle for a bento box. *Pouts*.

Bit more indigestion this week. My burbs are pretty impressive. I’m going to try speaking while I do my next megaburp.

hey, love the scan photo, very cute!

Enjoy the fact the baby was sleeping..mine has discovered kicking with a vengeance, and also has a mental half hour around 9-10pm where it goes crazy kicking and wriggling about…

Hope you enjoyed gold coast, and hope your sickness goes away soon..mine was around 16 weeks when it went completely, but started easing off around 14 weeks.

16 weeks! That’s aaaages away!

The Gold Coast went well except for the bed bug bites I got :(
