Pregnant Fight Club
- First rule of Pregnant Fight Club – you have to be pregnant.
- Second rule of Pregnant Fight Club – no punching the belly.
- Third rule of Pregnant Fight Club – no punching at all.
Actually, no hurting at all. Pregnant Fight Club doesn’t really work does it…?
Let’s just bake cupcakes – I could do with a snack.

Pregnant fat hand in my hand brace
Baby Update at 24 Weeks
At the end of this 24th week, I can now say I have a pregnancy waddle. Clomping with your legs slightly apart just feels more comfortable. So what if I look constipated (if my belly isn’t obvious enough that I’m pregnant).
Well, after three sessions of acupuncture, my carpal tunnel syndrome has not gotten any better. My doctor is not surprised – he thinks acupuncture is pointless and in this case it was. I’ll be buying a hand brace some time this week, and hopefully it’ll help me get some quality sleep at night. I’m not sure if it’ll help me with doing things like writing, brushing teeth or using a knife and fork though. Those things are currently quite painful.
I now feel bloated and tight most of the time, and noticing the extra weight when I walk and sleep. Don’t expect me to walk from The Terrace to Courtenay place in under half an hour anymore.
Baby is kicking much more as well, but thankfully she seems to sleep at night so doesn’t wake me up.
And my word, I have developed a major sweet tooth! I better be careful to not over do it though. I don’t want any more conditions.
My belly button has also started on its descent/ascent into outie-ness. Maybe I’ll be lucky and it’ll stay as an innie… we’ll have to wait and see.

Feeling heavy at 24 weeks
Baby Update at 23 Weeks
My carpal tunnel syndrome doesn’t seem to be getting any better, but I’m hopeful…
I had my third acupuncture appointment tonight and if it doesn’t get better in the next few days then I will have to wear a hand brace :(
Tonight the acupuncturist put a point into my palm – ouchie!! She knew it was going to hurt and said it’s sometimes better not to say anything before hand and just get it done. There was a bit of blood when she took it out, and it stung the whole time. Now I have a bruise there. Definitely not looking forward to a repeat!
At least we went to Wagamama for dinner afterwards, which made me feel better :) We also got to use the $40 in Wagamama vouchers from the Entertainment Book people to make up for our terrible experience at Café Pica. What great customer service! Too bad Café Pica doesn’t seem to care, but that’s their problem.
Baby Update at 22 Weeks
Just as I thought everything was going swimmingly, I develop pregnancy-related carpal tunnel syndrome.
It really sucks because my right hand is always tingly, and I can’t do things that require gripping for long – like brushing teeth, or writing, or even opening jars. My right arm aches often too, including the elbow and shoulder. The worst thing is that it’s keeping me awake at night.
My midwife says it’s only going to get worse, and it usually doesn’t occur this early :(
She recommended acupuncture so I tried it yesterday. I had some points put in my wrists as well as ankles to combat any swelling that may be occurring there. It’s a weird sensation and I’ll need a few sessions before I notice any changes – assuming it works.
I was told to reduce my fat, salt and dairy intake as they cause water retention – nooOooOoo! All the good things!
At least this is an excuse not to do dishes :)
I wonder what else is in store during this pregnancy…?

Me at 22 weeks pregnant and now with carpal tunnel syndrome...
